Hi, i just got my pre, but I live in Canada and the sprint navigation is not available.

I was going to try and install it like i would install homebrew apps, but i first wanted to know weather or not sprint navigation includes maps of canada before i attempt at going true all that trouble.

I was also wondering 2 other things

1. is there any way of having a song play on youtube while i do something else? cause i use youtube for songs, since i can't use pandora.

2. I haven't listened to much music true the speakers (got it today), and its late now for me to blast music, but is it just me, or does the music playing true the headphones it comes with sound a little weird.. I was listning to a couple songs off youtube, and it felt a bit different. Maybe it's just me... I dunno.

unfortunantly when you press the center key on the pre to get into card view the video on youtube stops..

Listining to music through the headphones sound great when I use it, what makes you feel like its sounds weird? maybe try another video, to be honest i've never used the headphones on youtube only pandora

It also looks like sprint navigation works in canada because I just put in "Drive to": State Ontario and City Thunder Bay and it gave me a route from my house 2553 miles Tongue.

I have never had a problem with listening to music through the headphones, although I usually have done it through Pandora.  Does Sprint TV work in Canada?  I think there is music on there too.

Thank you..

O, and i listened to some music from the music app this morning, and it was fine.

So it was either the youtube video, or most likely just me.

yeah but shouldn't the program work as long as it has internet and a gps signal? It shouldn't matter where its getting the internet from.

i don't think the navigation talks directly to satellites for all of the data that it gets - probably only to locate you.  a lot of the data probably streams through the sprint network to keep the cost of the satellite data charges down.  otherwise you should be able to buy a phone for $500, not get it activated through sprint, and use it like a tom tom (considering you could use the wifi for internet).

But im talking about the application termed "Sprint Navigation"

Palm doesnt put this app on the device, Sprint does....

nimer wasnt asking why his gps didnt work, he wanted to know where his "Sprint Navigation" was at....and he was trying to install it via homebrew...

but its not a homebrew app, nor would he ever be able to get the Sprint Navigation on his phone if he is with Bell in Canada...

Mine works, but it is sluggish. I can be 10 miles past the bridge to home, and it tells me there is congestion on the bridge. Strange, since it knows where I am...

Well, Palm will have to do something about this anyway. Keep in mind, the Pre will be released all over Europe this year, and including Canada and Australia there is no carrier turn-by-turn navogation! That's probably something they haven't thought about yet, or it didn't have a high priority, but I won't buy a phone without a proper navigation app.
