ok maybe i completely missed it... but how can i sync my itunes library to this audacity thing? ugh im so confused!!! Once you have your selection exported... Open it in iTunes. Then sync your pre with iTunes. Then go to your ringtones and click +Music button. Find your ringtone and select it. This is one way of doing it but to be honest the easier way is to just export the selection to somewhere where you know it is then plug your Pre in choose USB mode, and drag the song into the ringtone folder.

Okay so i have figured out the tutorial and everything, but when i try to export the ringtone it says it needs the lame encoder. So, i went to the site and tried to download it but when it opens it says that it can't locate the file so I can't download it. Any Ideas? also i downloaded the beta version which i thought had the lame encoder

After you download the lame encoder you must tell Audacity where you put it.
So when you go to export as MP3 it should ask you to locate the lame encoder all you do is navigate to it and select it, Audacity will do the rest.

Great Tutorial, I couldn't get it to work though because everytime I downloaded the lame decoder it wasn't in the zip file when unpacked. Then when I went to download the beta for some reason my work computer wouldn't let me install. Guess I'll have to wait for someone to make a app for the phone like window's mobile has for ringtone creation. Or just use garageband or pro tools at home real quick.

I am just about over this phone and have only had it since Sat. I have been trying for 4 days to download ringtones, and have read and read on here. Perhaps I am stupid but....How or where do I find a ringtone folder to drag and drop it into??? I had a link sent to my phone and it says to download it, but when I do that all it does is stream the ringtone and in the space where it says download it just stays there. So I tried plugging the phone in with the USB thing and then trying to send it to a ringtone folder....if I have to make one how do I do that? I am either beginning to think I am to stupid for this phone or I have a lemon. As much as I didn't like my Instinct this phone is just so unuser friendly and is missing alot of great features of the Instinct...why in the world would it not have a speed dial feature that you don't have to work to make? or why does it not have voice commands, I am heading out on vacation tomorrow, and I almost think I may just have to switch the phone out today. Any help would be appreciated. Also why would we have to download a 300 page manual it should have been included....okay enough venting on my part...but some ringtones would be nice!

To get ringtones one your pre:
1. Make sure the file is in .mp3 or .wav
2. Connect your pre to your computer and select USB Mode
3. Go to the root of your pre and find the "ringtones" folder
4. Move your ringtone into that folder.

Worked great for me! Just forgot to dl the Lame dll. After I did that, had no problems getting it to the Pre and using it.
Thanks
