Just wondering what your first computer and/or gaming system was

I had one of the immortal Commodore 64's (still in working order in my attic) and an Atari 2600 (one of the originals with the fake woodgrain finish, also in working order in my attic)

From there I moved on to a 486DX2/66, and then the first computer I built was a Pentium 200MMX (actually a 166 that I overclocked, which was a big deal at the time).  After that I lose track.

Commodore 64 for me as well.  Got my first experience programming with that thing. I made a strobe light with it by alternating black and white screens and repeating. I miss that thing.

Do you remember the books/magazines with games you could program yourself?  I spent hours upon hours typing in basic code just to play some crappy game, but loved every minute of it.

I think that might have been where I got the 'strobe light' program. All of that programming came in handy when I got my TI graphing calculator in high school. Pretty much made it into a gameboy.

I know somebody who managed to put halo on their TI-84. It was black and white and kind of grainy but at least it gave him something to do in class.

I had the TI-83. We didn't have anything like Halo when I was in high school. We were quite happy with Tetris and text adventure games. Yeah...it was a simpler time. Speaking of TAG's...Precentral has a homebrew of Zork, which I happened to have on my Commodore 64.

I remember when I programmed a blackjack game into my TI-83, I was so proud of myself!

Zork rocked!
