Is there an App or any way to get the QWERTY key pad to come up on the touch screen?

I wouldn't take the "melting" too seriously, but it's true that this is a project for people who know what they are doing. If you don't feel comfortable trying it out, I don't recommend it. You will have to wait for an official soft-keyboard then, or at least until this project is finished and save to use.

If you really want to do it I would suggest doing it via Preware:
http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/On_Screen_Keyboard#Install_Via_PreWare

That should be quite easy. For how to install Preware just do a Google search.

This may not be all that easy for you.  My guess is that if you don't know what flash is, you may not have the skills necessary to do this without causing some damage.  Especially since a new update is coming out soon and you would need to uninstall these patches before that.

That's exactly what I ment earlier. Don't do it, just enjoy your phone with the hardware-keyboard Wink

ok thanks guys.  Now I have another question.  I switched to pre from the palm centro.  And I had my calendar on the palm desktop.  Is there anyway I can sync my old calndar with my new pre?

You would probably have to setup an Outlook profile, sync the Palm Desktop to that, and then use the one time sync utility to get your stuff into the PRE.

Here is the link to import the stuff into Outlook:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810930

And here is a link to transfer it to the PRE:

http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/pre/migration/dta_windows.html

There may be an easier way (although probably not free) but I dont know what it is.

I looked at that and the link you provided talked about exporting the address book from palm desktop, and said nothing about the calendar.  Can I just put calendar in for address?
