I have been trying all afternoon to add my yahoo mail acct to my palm pre.  I receive the following message:  "invalid security token 6 1236 0".  Then I am asked to input certain information manually:
Mail Type:  IMAP  POP or EAS
Incoming Mail Server Name
User Name
Port #143
Encryption:  None or SSl or TLS
Server Name

Outgoing Server Name
Username
Password
Port#
Encryption

Please help,
Melissa

I am replying to my own message.  I was able to obtain all the pertinent information to add my yahoo mail account to my Palm manually; however, I was still unsuccessful.  I found out from several other Pre users on the Palm Pre web site that the yahoo mail problem is one that has to be fixed by Palm.  There is hope that when the Palm people issue their next update that perhaps those of us with yahoo mail will be able to add our yahoo mail account without issue and will be able to use it continously rather than sporadically or not at all as has been the case.

I haven't heard of this problem yet.  I have been using yahoo mail since I purchased the phone with no problems at all (besides the manual check of email still automatically checking, which they fixed with the last update).  If it is a big issue for you, I would contact PALM, i'm sure they can help.  Worst case scenario, I would use WebOS doctor to flash the phone back to factory and try again (after backing up all of your stuff).  Good luck!

Thanks for your response.  I did get it reloaded and it has been running fine since last night.   Maybe just some sort of fluke.

I appreciate your help along the way, as always.

I've been using Yahoo mail for a few months now with zero problems. Are you using the correct settings?

Mail Type: IMAP

Incoming Mail Server: palm.imap.mail.yahoo.com
Your username (email address)
Your Password
Port: 993
Encryption: SSL

Outgoing Email Server: palm.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use Authentication: On
Your username (email address)
Your Password
Port: 465
Encryption: SSL

Try them and let me know.
