First let me say I love my Palm Pre and I would never want another phone but last night while it was in it's little soft case I dropped it in bowl of water for about a 1/4 of a second and immediatly took it apart a dried it the best I could. I then put it (apart) in front of a fan all night to dry. when I woke this morning it seemed to go on ok and I was happy but the top on/off button and the side volume contols do not work properly. The side volume is weird, it will go up ok but then (usually) go right back down on it's own like I'm holding it down on my own and some times it takes a few tries to even get it back on with the top button. Any ideas out there? I know I should have tried rice but I didn't have any on hand and it was late and the family was already asleep.

Please help.

Go to PreCentral.com and search for the Media Volume Homebrew App.  It installs a software slider in the pull-down at the right-side top of your Pre (the same one which allows you to turn on Bluetooth, WifFi and Airplane Mode).  Once you install it, you can use the slider to change the volume instead of the up/down buttons on the side of the phone.

You can also use a tiny screwdriver to remove on on-off button at the top of the phone.  If you insert a tiny piece of rubber or foam, and then reinsert the button, that may solve the button problem.

Good luck!
