When I go to the videos icon it goes to a blue screen that say's "have fun".l

"have fun" is the intro video for the phone. If you put videos on your phone they will show up on that blue screen.

I have tried to figure out how to make a video but have had no luck.

Do I need to download an ap to make videos.

Yeah. It's been about 4 months since I had seen that method. Too many steps for me to consider it(I'm lazy) and no sound. I'm still waiting for a Homebrew or official app for it once they release mic access to the masses.

Actually, the method from the webos internals here does have sound recording and a GUI, the only downfall is that you cant see what you are recording yet.
