With the new update, i decided to add the yahoo IM account...all of my IM contacts are now showing in my regular "call" contacts...I can't figure out how to remove them...if that is even an option...I figured it would be the same as how i deleted the facebook contacts...guess I was wrong

If you delete the yahoo IM account do they disappear?

I tried deleting the yahoo account and the contacts were STILL there...Now I went back into Messaging and I don't see the yahoo anymore..BUT It still gives me the option to log in..which I'm finding kinda strange...And when I am in messaging and then click on add IM account, yahoo is in there for me to add...So now I'm really confused...Hmm Maybe I need to turn my phone off and then back on...

Ok I tried turning my phone off and back on and that did not work...Now when I go into messaging and click on "buddies" it shows me as logged into yahoo IM.. even though now it shows that I have no buddies...But they are still in my call contacts...

I hope I'm explaining this ok...I'm kinda confused so I'm having a problem putting it into words...

You probably need to go into contacts and then remove the yahoo account there, I think it is a separate entry from the IM account.

Contacts is where I deleted the account from...Now it shows that there is no Yahoo account...but yet the IM contacts are still in with my Regular call contacts...And when I go into messaging it still allows me to log into Yahoo messenger but when I'm logged in I see NO buddies...Also when I go through contacts like you said, it shows NO yahoo IM...I only see "palm profile" under my accounts and then I click "add an account" I see yahoo...But the yahoo in contacts is for your email isn't it? And the yahoo in messaging Is the actual Instant Messenger, right or not?  Undecided

I never dont ever remember creating a seperate account for yahoo as far as contacts go, when they released the last update, the IM account and contacts appeared because I already had yahoo mail configured.  I dont really know why you are still having trouble removing them.  There is always the option oof backing up everything and the doctoring it...

When I first got my phone I had my yahoo email all set up and never had any problems...I never had any of my email contacts mixed in with my regular contacts...Then after the 1.3.1 update I installed yahoo messenger...After I did that all my yahoo messenger contacts went straight into my regular contacts and I couldn't find anyway to delete them...So Then I tried what you had said and uninstalled yahoo messenger from my phone...But the messenger contacts were still in with my regular ones...since then, I put yahoo messenger back. Last night I decided to mess around with it again...I am not sure what I did, but now when I click on some of the yahoo contacts that are in my call contacts I'm able to delete some but not all...the ones that I can NOT delete have a Yahoo icon to the right of the name and when I try to delete it says Yahoo IM contacts can not be deleted...And the one that I CAN delete have no icon next to them. I have NO clue...But at least now I only have a few yahoo buddies instead of the 70+ I had before, which makes making a call a lot easier now!
