I thought the email was supposed to sync periodically but it is almost like i have two different accounts.  If i read an email on a computer or delete it, the inbox on the pre doesnt update and i have to delete it again or read it.  If i file emails on a computer the inbox on my pre does not update and still shows those emails in my inbox.  Is there a way to force to pre to look at my account and only display what is actually there?

make sure that your in your preferences and account setting that your sync setting for "get email" is set to "as item arrives".  also if you dismiss the item from your notifications and then when you go into your account it's still there, tap the refresh icon in the bottom right corner.

hope this helps.

I have the preferences set to "sync deleted emails" and "get email" set to every 30 minutes to conserve the battery (plus its not my primary email account).  I hit the refresh button and it doesnt do anything.

An example of my problem is that i got an email notifying me someone had replied to the post.  I went to hotmail on my computer and viewed the email and deleted it.  Now my phone will not show it as deleted until i manually delete it on my phone as well.  This isnt such a big problem but there are emails i have filed to another folder on the computer that still show up in my inbox and i dont want to delete them for fear they will actually be deleted.  I would just prefer to not have to do everything twice and i feel like the syncing should take care of that.

Can anyone help?

i am having the same problem with my email account (hotmail).  it  does not sync.  settings sync deleted emails "on" and refresh every 5 minutes (as they arrive not an option).
