how do i delete a google talk profile?

somehow when my phone synced with my gmail account for it pulled an old contact from a google talk profile. now everytime i try to delete that contact i get a message stating Google Talk Profiles can not be deleted. what the heck i want this gone but the pre will not allow me to delete it. there has to be a way. thanks in advace for the help.

1. Go to messaging

2. tap on the "messaging" menu on the top left

3. tap "preferences & accounts"

4. tap your google talk account

5. tap remove account
