New message on the phone ... "Install New Updates"
I plug in the phone to the charger, click "Install"
The screen goes black
It won't turn back on now... it's been about 1 hour.

Any suggestions?

just installed the new update & phone turned back on just fine - had it's usual progress screens while the update was going on.  even tho it always says to NOT remove the battery, since your phone is not doing anything may want to try taking the battery out and putting it back in for that type of restart.  OR call Sprint or verizon or palm for advice first.
