Sorry about the image quality, but it's a webcam.  I circled the problem tabs.  It looks like the same picture, but it's not.  They just happen to be in the same place when the phone is rotated.  One is in the top right corner of the phone, the other in the bottom left.

The skin is only overlapping by about a millimeter... which is small enough to be difficult to trim, and large enough to be a royal pain the ass.  I might just slice off a good 3 mm because it's not in a really bad area to lose skin, and it'll be easier to remove.  I dunno...  I'll do it later tonight and let you know how I made out.

I'm just scared to death, because I don't want to slice the phone, so I'll probably making the lightest possible scores with a new razor and gently pulling up & away with tweezers until it breaks off.

If Bill Gates had a nickel for every time Windows crashed...  oh wait, he does.

If you have a complaint about the Pre, such as a lack of a feature or a feature that doesn't work well, complaining about it here isn't going to fix it.  Why not send your suggestion to Palm?  That's how the Pre will evolve from a great phone into an even greater phone.  Just click here.

I was also told by a Best Buy rep that a lot of people are having problems with these falling off the Pre. He said the "ears" that wrap around the edges on the corners catch everything and peel itself off. Anyone having this problem once its  applied to the screen?

No, but those *ears* are what I'm talking about... see my pictures above.  They haven't caught on anything yet, but I'm sure they will, which is why I'm going to attempt a trim job later tonight, to prevent that.

I don't see the skin "falling off" though.  It's on there pretty good.  The problem is this area.  I wish they just made one to cover the screen and stop at the curve.  If this becomes a problem, I may trim down my remaining skin and try it that way.

Other than this, it's a very nice skin... and it doesn't have the "orange peel" effect that invisible skin has.  I don't blame Phantom for this... it's the design of the Pre...  it's a very difficult shape to build a skin for.

If you do this, PLEASE post a detailed pic of where you did you trimming.  I don't plan on installing mine until I can catch a visual of this.

give me 10 minutes and I'll post the picture

I havent had any problems with overlapping with the "ears", only the areas around the speaker and camera.

OK I stole Tib's picture from page 1 and made my own highlights.

Please direct your attention to the ORANGE box.  The "ears" are marked in blue, and the part they overlap are purple.

If you're going to trim, trim the blue.

I have the same ear problem on one corner.  I will most likely take it off and re-apply.

I did have a close call with my pre today.

I dropped this on the screen while sitting at my desk.

Not a scratch on the skinz.  Didn't crack the screen either.  I wouldn't want to make a habit of testing it, though.

10 to 12 inches.

I'm getting my phone replaced this weekend.  Maybe I'll try the unprotected drop with the new one....

So just got my phantom skins tonight and just put on the top piece... No overlapping. But  right now on the screen it looks like the underside of the skin has a haze in spots or like there is finger prints on it but they're not fingerprints.

As the instructions said I wet the thing down before and all my fingers were wet when I peeled it off and during the install of the skin so I hope it's just water (doesn't look like it) and will come out by the morning. Will have to wait and see I guess
