I've searched for specific examples to my answer but maybe I can get a better answer here. How much will the InvisibleShield, phanton Skin, Body Guardz, etc. affect sensitivity of the touch screen? Phantom Skin advertises that it will not affect it at all. Is this true? And if so, does that mean that the other products will? I asked a Sprint store rep today this question and he said that b/c the Pre has a "heat-sensitive touch screen" that it will drastically alter things like gestures and did not recommend thiem. I was just hoping to find someone who has used one on the Pre and what their impression of it was. It seems the majority of posters lean towards the IS. But it also sounds like most people are waiting to receive their IS and have not used it on the Pre yet.
Feel free to let me know if I'm blind to a previously post that answers my question!
So I bought an IS from zagg online. Applied it after reading the instructions and watching the video. Did all the little things like remove the battery and leave off for 24 hours (which was painful). But my application looked awful. I later heard that a local mall in the Tampa area has an IS kiosk where they sell and install the IS's. I took my Pre to the kiosk and asked the rep if my installation was correct. I assumed before getting there that I did it incorrectly and that I would just have to buy another one. But I forgot about the lifetime warranty! The rep replaced my IS with a brand new one and installed it correctly in a matter of minutes. It looks WAY better. I only had to pay the $10 install fee but it was completely worth it.
Apparently, I over-squeegied the IS when I applied it. This caused the glue to move around and make additional bubbles. The rep did one stroke in each direction with the squeegie while I did multiple trying to get out every bubble and bump. This only made things worse.
I only applied IS to the screen-side of Pre (not the back). It does not interfere with the screen or sliding keyboard. In fact, as a previous poster mentioned, I like the responsiveness with the IS on.
