I have Java installed, and just went to that website to download and make sure I have the correct updated version.  Java works and is updated, but the webOSQuickinstall file still doesn't run...Is there a way to open the Java program and then try to make it open this file?  I'm sorry I'm not tech-savy, but Java isn't even on the list of possible programs to open the "Unknown file type"...

The file you are trying to install has a .jar expetsion right?  If it does, and you have java installed correctly, it should open.  The only other thing I could suggest is to manually assign the file extension, as in when ity asks you what program to use to open this file, browse to the folder (which should be something like this C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin) and then select the java.exe file.  Hope this helps.

Greetings, It has been a while since i have posted or even been to PPF. I was skimming and came to this topic and i must say while preware is fantastic for Apps it is "even now" still pretty buggy with themes, patches, and tweaks. I completely recommend using WOSQI for those. I have had to do a WebOS Doctor reset to my phone twice now due to preware failing on properly installing or removing of the previously stated. But plz dont be discouraged it is still the best app for on the fly app d/l!!! Smiley ttyl
