BTW, as I was reading through all the pages, I noticed quite a few duplicate feature requests.

Yeah, that's because we don't summarize them, and new users usually don't read through all the pages. As long as it doesn't get out of hand.. I think by now most requests have been made Wink

To see the re-flowing I am talking about, watch the following at about 1 min 30 seconds:

Ahhh, gotcha, it actually reformats the text to fit on the screen.  I guess i was just confused by the terminology.  Thanks for clearing it up.

i'd like to see the ability to set different ringtones for texts.  not just the ability to change the sound for the universal ringtone sound but have the ability to have a certain ringtone for johnnys text and have a completely different ringtone for janets text.  this was one of the features i absolutely loved on my lg phones

Opera Mini sorta did this on the instinct. Its probably what I miss most about my instinct.

Well I guess this is the right place to put it.. Dave from Palm just finished his Twitter-Q&A'ing, I'm gonna post some of the 'important' answers:

Q:
Dave - 1. Will we ever be able to forward text messages?

Quote
forwarding text messages? We know you want this too. It's important.

http://twitter.com/palm/statuses/3563941208

Q:
Custom Notification Sounds!

Quote
Notification sounds: We have heard the message loud and clear on this. We know you want it.

http://twitter.com/palm/statuses/3563687660

Q:
when are we going to be able to save pictures directly from the web?

Quote
Browser save images: Have seen this a few times in feedback. Definitely noted as a demand.

http://twitter.com/palm/statuses/3564079541

Q:
is there a way to bulk/mass delete multipl emails or contacts

Quote
feature request for mass email and contact delete - weigh in on www.palm.com/feedback.

http://twitter.com/palm/statuses/3564505025

Q:
sound plays through speaker even when headphones are connected. Why? Also, copy/paste for non-editable text fields. Enable double-tap.

Quote
copy paste non-editable text: There are MSFT EAS policy issues affecting this. Lots of discussion on support forums.

For your convenience Smiley

Make the start-up time shorter!!
(The slow start-up is a real pain - it times at around 1 min. 46 sec., compared to the new iPhone's 19 sec. !!! No even remotely competitive. )

Native voice-dial

In TASKS, the ability to twice-prioritize (the way you could in the old Palm OS To-Do's - i.e., first by category, then by priority within category.

in CALENDAR, having one calendar banner that spans multi-day events, so you can easily see the block of time. (again, like in the Palm OS version).

Welcome to the forum Wink

Yeah I also don't know why the start-up time is so freakin' long.. but then again, I never shut my phones down.

TASKS should sync with google/gmail.  SMS and ALERT sounds should be a menu for the user like ring  tones.

Have I overlooked it but it seems no one has mentioned the below features below which were all there with Palm III a decade ago, which are all functional features that are not cosmetic or multimedia related and which I think are a big failure on part of the Palm Developers in such a competitive business user market.

I would like to;
- Be able to be able to set TASKS for a particular time by the minute. I can not see this feature where I can set a TASK to alert me at X date on 15h 33m. It is just the date!

- Be able to recover deleted emails from TRASH folder. Can not MOVE back to Inbox, nor recover.

- With last updated finally we are able to copy/edit text in received emails but only for the last one. I would like to be able to make any changes to any part of an email correspondence.

- Full Sync feature with MAC (tasks, notes, calendar, contacts)

Please let me know if I am overlooking anything here. But to my knowledge the above features are missing.

Just downloaded 1.4.0 today.

Love the camera video recorder.

Where's the voice memo recorder?  I thought I read somewhere this was going to be included in the update.

I don't recall ever reading about this. Wouldn't mind having it though.
