@H20 - you forgot to mention the part where 1.3.1 disallows installation for some folks.  i can't download anything from the app catalog, and can't install any of the .ipk files i'm working on.  it says i'm out of memory.  i have only used 13.4MB of the allowable 256MB or whatever.  i did a partial and full erase, and they didn't seem to work to remove applications on the /var/usr/palm/applications directory.  of course it wiped out my USB directory.   Angry  sprint and palm couldn't help.  i feel i'm going to need to doctor it which SUUUUCCCCKKKKSSSS!  oh well.

Did you update Preware and the Package Manager?  I had to do that to install the facebook app after getting the "App Storage Full" error (or something close to that).  I ended up doctoring it anyway because I messed up my patches.  If you have to do that, just check the palm backup was good.

I updated then realized that my tether doesn't work with 1.3.1, and since my tether is my main source of internet right now I'm reverting to 1.2.1.

EDIT: Apperently I picked a bad time to use the doctor because I haven't been able to get internet so I can activate my phone. After talking to 3 different techs at sprint I have found out what the problem is, it seems that there is a problem with the internet on the pres on sprint. So if everybody on sprint would stop downloading 1.3.1 and the facebook app I would appreciate it. Just kidding, you don't have to stop.... But seriously....

EDIT: Man this just keeps getting stranger. Called them again and they said my data had been blocked but they couldn't tell me why. While I was on hold while they were trying to get a hold of a tech person to unblock my data I got disconnected. Well I called them back and a different person answered, so I explained the situation and she said "Oh, let me just update your data profile", it just so happens about a minute later my internet was back up and I'm not sure who fixed it, the tech or the girl who updated my data profile. Either way I'm glad it's fixed but come on Sprint, the internet is down in my area, my internet has been blocked, my data profile needs updating? Which is it? get your act together Sprint, or I'll unleash a herd of elephants on your HQ.

I use MyTether too, but more for testing people's WiFi on laptops, so it isnt crucial to me.  Raja is working on it, USB and BT work, but he hasnt fixed WiFi yet, hopefully soon.  Do you use the "donation" version?

Yeah I have the donated version. I'll probably update to 1.3.1 tonight.

Sorry, I only had 1.3.1 for about an hour before going back to 1.2.1 so I could use my tether.

Do you use them for good, or for awesome?

Screen lock now shows a "done" button in the lower right corner.  I don't really like it and don't see the need for it.  For me, selecting the done button is an extra step to unlock the screen which I hate doing anyway.  The only reason I use screen lock is so if I lose my Pre, I have peace of mind no one can get into my information.

i must have had some lingering patch.  i couldn't update preware or the package manager since i had a pre-v0.9 preware, and my home computer isn't hooked up anymore (and i didn't know i could load preware with an .exe on my work computer until last night).  i just doctored back to 1.2 and re-updated.  it's nice to have the updated preware...  some pretty cool patches in there.

I am amazed at how many patches are in there, anyone who is not using it is really missing out.
Doctoring and reinstalling isnt too bad, the only thing that annoys me is that the backup does not restore the links in your contacts, which is a big pain, but other than that it is pretty easy.

EDIT:
H20 - just in case you didnt know, MyTether has been fixed to work with 1.3.1 now, WiFi and all.  Instructions here:

I noticed that you had listed the option to manually install a "Yahoo Small Business" email address as an added feature in the update.  I have WebOS 1.3.1 and that options not there for me.

Any idea how to install my Yahoo Mail Plus account so that it actually authenticates more than once?

Thanks!

Something really goofy has been going on with yahoo mail and the PRE over the last few days.  Mine will authenticate once, and then craps out on subsequent sync's.  Usually, I delete and then recreate, but again, it only works for the initial sync and then nothing.  Really starting to piss me off...

Yeah I started experiencing that problem near the end of last week. Since I don't use my Yahoo mail account much anymore I just deleted the account from my Pre permanently.
