A guy over at palmpreforum got an ipk working that installs a video recorder!  Here is a sample video from my PRE (sorry for the bathroom shot, only mirror at my work!) I kept getting the orientation wrong, but I was so excited to post I just wanted to let you guys know!

EDIT:
Sorry for the end of this, the app is tough to start and stop so I didnt realize I still had it running while walking back to my desk FAIL!

EDIT #2

Here is a youtube version

Nice! Good on you, man!...What frame rate are you getting? No sound? This is very promising....

Edit: Some people say that there is actually sound. On the palmpreforum site.

I am getting 15fps.  The original conversion to .avi looked kind of crappy, uploaded the original raw file to youtube and it looks better.

Nice! Thanks for sharing with us, I'm so excited. When video finally becomes mainstream on the pre I think we should start a thread of all our pre videos haha

I tried to be slick getting back to my desk without making it obvious I was goofing off.  Luckily, I am the only IT person at my agency, so I can play with this stuff and make it look like work Smiley

Wow thats very nice!
but without sound it seems useless doesnt it? but none the less it is very impressive.
i have an idea how to get sound along with the video but im not sure if its possible?
Is there any way to root an audio recorder to be simultaneously used with the video recorder? i mean the webOS is built for multitasking so why not give it a try??
just an idea i have but im no good with making apps so if anyone out there would like to give my idea a try that would be pretty koo!!

that looked like 30 fps to me man...

15 fps would have been choppy, and this video wasnt choppy at all...only slight auto white balance but thats perfectly normal

in my honest opinion the videos shot with the Pre look better than the ones on the iphone!
This is MY opinion though

It might have been 30, I think the tool I used to check it was off.  I am not a video person at all, I just like getting things to work!
