I have been looking at getting a slim extended battery and wanted to know if anyone has had experience with the two that I have been considering. The two I have been looking at are the Seidio 1350 mah and the Amzer 1400 mah. Has anyone had experience with these two and would you recommend one over the other? Also I have heard that the Seidio's have a problem with resetting the phone on their own, does this actually happen and would I have the same issue with the Amzer? And are these both truly compatible with the touchstone?

I think they both work the same. I recommend the amzer just because it has more mah

i recomend the mugen because its cheaper with 1400mah, i ordered one thursday but don't know how good of quality it is but for $32 you can't really compete, i think its an amzer battery with a different company, amzer and mugen probably buy from the same company and just distribute there name on it

I have been reading about the Mugen batteries on palmpreforum but nobody there has gotten theirs in yet, thus no reviews as of yet but for $32 it is pretty tempting. I might just hold off and see what people say about the Mugen before buying the Amzer. It looks as though the Mugen is just a repackaged Amzer.

It looks as though the people on palmpreforum have had good luck so far. I actually went ahead and bought a Mugen with the coupon, how far can I go wrong for $30 right? Thanks for the coupon by the way jpdaballa I appreciate it.

If you look closely at the photo of the replacement battery on the palmpreforum (wireless emporium) catalog page, it says "for Centro." I know that the Centro and Pre batteries are the same size, but the Sprint guy told me that the batteries for Centro and Pre are electrically different.

So whattzit? Is this a Centro battery or a Pre battery or both?

you shouldn't use the centos battery in the pre, they have different cells which the pre can't read so it won't function right (from what i've heard) but people do it anyways without any problems, I wouldn't recomend it though.

and josh i really hope you ordered that battery before they went sold out Sad they said they wont have anymore until next week, there website is having some glitches and doesn't show that its sold out. the homebrew app also shows the battery as a 1360 but even if it is its still cheaper then both seidio and amzer, i bet you probably already read all this on palmpreforum though Tongue

also where do you see that it says for centro, i was looking on the website and couldn't find it, can you post a link? thanks Smiley

Actually I hadn't seen that it was rated at only 1360 just quite yet. I am still cool with 1360 although that kinda sucks I just lost 40 mAh but for the price I still would have gone with it. And I was just on my way to sideload that homebrew battery app. It is definitely getting to be a pain to add new apps between the Palm App catalog and homebrew as I keep having to delete a bunch of homebrew apps so that I can get the Palm apps on then re sideload the homebrew's.

As for the Centro batteries, jpdaballa is right, I have read numerous entries by people who have had big problems when they have done that, supposedly they have different chips in them as well as different cells so the phone actually doesn't read the batteries correctly which can cause big problems with charging.. So I really wouldn't recommend using anything that isn't specifically for the pre. And nice screen name GoBears, I am a huge Bears fan who is really lookin forward to this season.

And nope I just ordered it last night so I am guessing I am going to be on that backorder list... oh well at least my phone is working so I can't complain too much.

On the banner at the top of this page, click on ACCESSORIES which will take you to the Wireless Emporium page. Then click on Pre Batteries which will bring up a picture of the battery. Click on the picture for a closer view.

I may be looking at a different battery than everyone else. But it is still interesting that they are selling Pre batteries that say Centro.

Your right, it does say Centro on that battery. And yes that is a different battery than we are talking about but that is pretty interesting. I did however check into the Seidio 1350, Amzer 1400 and Mugen 1400 extended batteries and they all do say Palm Pre on them. Looks as though they have a bad link on their accessory page.
