hey there i am new to this forum, i signed up just to sign this petition. i am a fairly quite person so the triangle sound isn't bad, but i do enjoy to hear something a little more humors when my sms messages come through.

This is definitely something I want.  The same tone is used for SMS messages, AIM messages, and email.  It would be nice to know which just arrived so I can decide if I want to interrupt what I'm doing to read it.

Nicely put. This is the exact reason as well. If I hear an email normally I'll leave it be. But if I hear a text I'll go grab it. I want to know the difference.

I  just leave email on vibrate... With all the notifications im getting from these forums... I dont need my phone "ringing" every second.
