Yea seriously let's take care of our Pres people, i.e. not play catch or hot potato with it. I know accidents happen but at a 200 dollar plus price tag, the Pre isn't a toy, therefore extra caution must be used. I mean I don't "accidentally" drop my Xbox once a week so why should the Pre be any different.  :Smiley

Dropped my Pre this AM from 2 feet on to a tile floor Sad Sad Sad.  Screen cracked and touch no longer work Angry Angry Angry Angry.  I am beginning to think this phone is a POS Shocked Shocked
So you dropped your phone, broke it, and you think it's the fault of the phone?  How about operator error...

You dropped it on tile!. What do you expect to happen? Drop an Iphone onto a tile floor and chances are the screen will crack. In fact, I've heard of less damaging a screen.
Tile + Glass = SMASH!

Whenever I drop my phone I choose only the plushest of 1970's shag carpeting to be it's landing destination.

mine slipped off my desk, down my leg, bounced off a shoe and essentially hit our laminate floor from about 3 inches.  have screen covered with IS and it's same in it's daydeal case - no damage.  now i appreciate having to think a bit about using the power button - it is not difficult but it is protected from a bump.

yup..I think I sat on my pre.  cracked screen.  done.  dont sit on your pre in any way either.  I think I used to sit on my treo with no problems. Embarrassed  $100 deductible and asurion roundabout.

UPDATE: I researched screen cracking and found it to be a widespread issue.  I am now skeptical about whether I cracked it, or it cracked on it own, due to a defect.   I started a new thread to discuss cracked screens.

even though is a known issue, sitting on your Pre leaves it open to speculation...

Well, I doubt most of us carry around our Xbox's around like we do a phone.  Slipping it in and out of pockets, going in and out of cars, having the phone in our laps while driving and forgetting about it being in our lap when we get out of the car (me=guilty!).

I'm so pissed!  I never drop my phones, and I am very careful about this type of thing.  Today, while leaving my house after lunch,  I went to pick up some trash to drop off, and there goes my Pre!  Falls out of my pocket oton the cement, and then slides.  Figures that it lands on its face.  No scratches on the back,  just 30 little scratches on the front!  I'm so disappointed.  Might I add, I hate how slick this casing is.  Too make it worse, my wife started laughing when she heard the fall, and says "Babe, I would've taken out the trash."
