I wish palm would make the upper status bar that displays the web tab, time, and battery life a little bit slimmer or even non- existent unless it was kept invisible while using an app. The screen is already small enough compared to the iphone and a bulky status bar doesn't help the overall display...

I cant imagine it being any smaller and still being able to read it!  As it is, it cant be more than 1/4 of an inch thick.

Take for example that its hidden in landscape mode so why can't it be implemented for portrait mode?

But you can't get to it at all in landscape mode.  I think people like to be able to take a quick glance at their phone and see the time and battery life without having to do anything.  I like to just slide the phone up slightly out of the case to glance at the top and see the time, and really wouldnt want to have to tap anything.

True but it could be made a default in the settings menu. Then there would be no need for tapping.  If you absolutely needed to know the time you could open up the clock app. Smiley

It can be implemented. Its up to the app developer. But, for reasons string97bean has pointed out, they leave it there.
